Monaro golden daisy (Rutidosis leiolepis)
ink, watercolour, paper
41.5 x 29.5 cm
Artist statement: As a walker/skier in the high country for over 60 years I have watched the growth of the horse population. With a family background in horse activities, farming and working as a jackaroo I am not ‘anti-horse’ but they have no place in the Snowy Mountains as I have seen the accumulating destruction as they reduce the streams, plains and bogs to mudheap. I tried to set a botanical representation of the Monaro Golden Daisy in a landscape where it occurs.
