Southern corroboree frog (Pseudophryne corroboree)
watercolour on paper
15 x 23 cm
Artist statement: Nothing brings me greater excitement than stumbling upon a native species in its natural habitat. Often they’re quite small and cryptic – scorpions sheltering between rocks, frogs you hear but struggle to spot, quiet marsupials that only come out at night. Our national parks are the last refuges for species found nowhere else in this world. It is my hope that we find a way to ensure these species, like the corroboree frog, continue to have a home in the future.
