Artist statement: The Australian Alps are the only place where some beautiful native plants and animals live (for example Alpine Striped Sun Orchids and Southern Corroboree Frogs) but the homes of these threatened species are being destroyed by ever-increasing numbers of feral horses. I am very worried feral horses could drive our native species to extinction. I holiday in Kosciuszko NP every summer with members of Oatley Flora and Fauna Conservation Society. We love the High Country and protecting its natural environment is so important to us. I enjoyed using my sewing skills to make replicas of Max Mueller’s Burr Daisy.
