Bago leek orchid

Critically Endangered: Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016


The Bago leek orchid is known only to exist in a single population on land covered by a Crown Lease in State Forest near Tumbarumba. This species occurs over about 12ha of sub-alpine grassy plain and wetland at an elevation of about 1100m.

 

Threats

  • Grazing, trampling and pugging by feral horses.
  • Weed infestation.
  • Changes in hydrology and land management practices.
